As the most experienced candidate, having served as Petaluma Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Planning Commissioner, we accomplished much together. Looking to the future, we must continue building upon our strengths to secure good-paying jobs, create SMART growth incentives and protect our environment.
As your Sonoma County Transportation Authority representative, we will soon begin construction of East Washington interchange upgrades, followed by improvements to Old Redwood Highway. Count on me to continue leading us to prompt completion of Highway 101 widening, keeping Petaluma projects on track, and providing local jobs.
Times are tough, but working together we will create jobs, protect the environment, and improve our quality of life through the implementation of smart growth strategies. Under my leadership as Mayor, we revitalized our downtown, bringing the movie theaters with associated mixed use development to generate revenue for Petaluma while eliminating blight. We will also continue to work to stimulate the economy by capitalizing on the return of rail service.
In addition, as a 20-year municipal securities principal, following my sports broadcasting career with the San Francisco Giants, I will lead us in a fiscally responsible manner, with proven leadership skills.

The 2009 Sonoma-Marin Fair just ended its annual five-day run and the Petaluma City Council recently approved its 2009-2010 budget. Now it’s time for the fair board and the council to get back to the business of discussing long-range plans for the centrally located, city-owned parcel where the fair has operated since 1936.

 I was the first to identify the dilapidation of our streets in the 1998 Mayoral Campaign. This is a 20-year problem that has finally come home to roost. It is a direct result of neglect caused by decades of pro-developer decision of past city councils. With your vote I will provide the leadership to fix this problem. |
